FISHING REPORT
Monday July 6th, I Hope Everyone Had A fun And Safe Weekend Even With The Passing Rain!
Perch Fishing Was Good. Sunday Morning A Lot Of Limits Were Caught, Mostly Using Baby Shiners Or Large Fat Head Minnows On Perch/Crappie Rigs. Most Of Them Still Seem To Be In And Around The Mouth Of The Harbor. I Posted A Few Pics At The Bottom That We Took in the shop This Weekend. I am sure there are perch at the other harbors also, you just have to look for them. If i had time i’d be out there with my powerline. Those Familiar with a powerline should give it a try. It is not like using it for coho you have to change up a few things but Definitely fun for perch!
The Winds Are Shifting To N/E For The Next Couple Days Which Will Not Send Them Away But I Think It may Slow The Bite Down A Bit. 🤷♀️ Perch Can Be Very Temperamental so you just don’t know!
Smallmouth Still In And Around The Harbor Walls And Mouths. Live Baits That Are Working Are Large Shiner Minnows, Medium Crayfish, Leeches And Nitro Worms. Plastics Such As Ned Rigs, fuzzies, Tubes, Crawfish, And Goby Types Have Been Working Great When Casted Out And Worked In slowly Off The Bottom.
Still A Few Steelhead Caught At Diversery On Spoons such as KO Wobblers And Moonshines. I Wouldn’t Be Surprised If A King Was To Be Caught In This Cooler Water.
A Lot Of Sheephead (Freshwater Drum) Being Caught On Just About Anything. They Mostly Like The live Crayfish On The Bottom Though With The Wind Shift To The N/E The Next Few Days They Will Be Hot And Heavy Out On The Horseshoe Pier.
You Know What I Say “Life Is Short” So Get Up And Get Out You Can’t Catch Them From The Couch!
