FISHING REPORT

Wednesday October 29th, Wow Can’t belive it is the end of October already. We are planning on saying open through the first week of december. Of course that will  depend on the weather. Our hours right now are 6am to 6pm but our closing hours will start to change as time goes on so always call first.

The entrance to montrose is closed at the moment due to the bridge construction. Should only be a week or 2. you can access the shop from wilson or lawrence ave.

Winter fishing information! park district pier passes will be available at the shop starting on november 15th. We are glad to have the new navy pier marina offer a dock pass program to access the new docks for the winter fishing. They will have it set up on their website (Navypiermarina.com) sometime this month, i will keep you all posted. It is not necessary to have this pass to fish the pier that will still be as it was. The fishermans parking is still $9.00 and the hours will be 5am to 10am. With thanksgiving and christmas day open and free. Thank you navy pier!
as for the lastest fishing report, the water temperature is finally dropping and the fish are starting to get active again. The King/Chinook salmon are hitting lures. Spoons and crankbaits with crankbaits working better. Bright and shiny have been the most effective. Also starting to hit on spawn.
steelhead and coho in and around the harbors on a variety of baits. Hair/maribu jigs with wax worms or shrimp, a few casting spoons/crankbaits, minnows, worms etc… on a slip bobber set up towards the bottom.
no smallmouth reports but some nice rock bass at diversey.
no perch to report as of yet but it Shouldn’t be long.
You Can’t catch em from the couch so you gotta get up and get out!
