FISHING REPORT

Sunday June 28th, i can’t believe the 1st of July is just a couple days away! Fishing has still been hit or miss.

perch are around. There are limits being caught by a few, others are getting just a few and others none at all. Summer perch require a little more patience And effort. Find the school catch the fish. So far they have been mostly around the mouth of the harbor and there was one day out on the horseshoe they did good. Not sure about the other harbors but my guess is they are Around them too you just have to find em! They have been nice size from what i have seen. They are hitting on baby shiner minnows and small pond craws (crayfish) with perch rigs. We have all the Varieties, plain crappie rigs, perch pounders, perch slayers, etc…with the upcoming heat this week winds should be from the south/southwest which should cool the water a bit more and hopefully get more perch active.

smallmouth are still hitting Around the harbor walls and mouths. Hitting on live baits, nitro worms, leeches, large shiner minnows, pond craws (crayfish) etc…as well as plastics, ned rigs, swimbaits, gobies, crawdads, etc…

water temps still on the cooler side. there have been a couple trout caught as well as people seeing them swimming around the harbor. Just cast spoons that are silver with any other color or just plain silver, work a hair jig with a wax worm or butter worm off the bottom or cast a shad like crabkbait.
Out on the boats trolling the coho fishing has been on 🔥🔥🔥 in 40 to 50 feet of water.

sheephead (freshwater drum) are being caught all over on just about anything. They love crayfish on a bottom rig. They are a fun fish to catch beccause they put up a great fight! They can be good to eat if they are cleaned correctly.

the chicago river always has decent action. with so many different species its hard to not catch a fish of some kind. Live bait is Recommended, minnows, worms, leeches, crayfish etc….

we have a few skipjack in stock So grab em while you can they wont last long!

you can’t Catch em from the couch so get up & get out. Remember to stay hydrated in the hot weather thats coming.

we will be open our normal hours for the 4th of july.
