FISHING REPORT

Thursday september 17th, Hi all! Sorry for the late report it has been a busy week around here. For those who Don’t know, the street right here in front of the bait shop was dedicated to my father as Honorary “ willie greene way”  We did the ceremony on sunday. It was truly an Unforgettable day. We are super honored and proud. Pics below.

ok as most of you know the salmon fishing has been really good. Lots of coho, kings and steelhead up and down the chicago lakefront. Coho and kings hitting on spoons and crankbaits. All colors. Glo in the dark in the overnight hours and anything shiny in the daytime. Steelhead hitting spawn sacs, large shiner minnows, crawlers, shrimp, etc… on bottom rigs and slip bobber set ups. Salmon should start hitting live baits very soon. A few want to powerline, i Don’t think it’s a Ridiculous idea with as many coho as i have seen. Just Don’t shoot out far, they are close to shore. use some cut bait like shad, some live large minnows, and spawn sacs. i’m starting to see a few reports of salmon up north now but for the most part our area has been the best.     Don’t let this lake discourage you. If you haven’t caught a salmon yet just keep trying. Remember this is a great fishing lake but it is a hard catching lake. Time effort and determination is what it takes.

smallmouth still good for those trying. Hitting large shiners really good on the bottom.

no perch to report i think we will have to wait till november for them.

riverwalk still good. There is always something to be caught there just grab some bait and toss it in.

there is A-lot of nice weather and good fishing left so get up and get out you can’t catch em from the couch!

our hours are still 5am to 8pm 7 days a week.
