FISHING REPORT

Friday september 25th, OMG sorry Haven’t been able to get to making a report. This is show season so i am out stocking up on next years tackle. Anyway can you Believe september is almost over? Where the hell did it go?

salmon are the hot topic! This has been the best fall season i can remember. Lots of coho and a few kings (chinook) up and down the chicago lakefront. starting to see Reports from up north also. casting lures and crankbaits. KO wobblers, little cleos, moonshines, reef runners, thundersticks etc….There isn’t one better than the other everyone has their favorite color shape and size. it is mostly timing. I truthfully think with these smaller fish you should drop down to a little smaller size spoon and cast for awhile. I have had so many guys say they are getting hits or even losing them. It has still been a dusk till dawn bite with some good action right after sunrise till about 8 to 9am. I feel the season still has about 3 to 4 more good weeks to go. The water temps are just starting to get into the mid 60’s and will continue to drop over the next couple weeks. The kings are starting to show up now. I saw quite a few the last couple of days. They are on the smaller size but the big ones should follow. Haven’t Heard Much About A Live Bait bite, But It Is Time To Start Fishing With A Slip Float Or Bottom Rig With Spawn Sacs, Crawlers, Larger Shiner Minnows, shrimp Etc…

a few steelhead mostly at diversey harbor use hair/maribu jigs with wax worms and work it off the bottom or cast spoons or crankbaits. A few at montrose on lures.

smallmouth are still very active in the harbors on large shiners, leeches, and crawlers as well as the Artificial like ned rigs, etc….

you know that life is short so get up and get out! you can’t catch em from the couch or the recliner lol!
