FISHING REPORT

Friday october 16th, Let’s start with our new hours. We are now 5am to 7pm 7 days a week. Looks like the weather after today will start to level out and become nice again.

the hot weather slowed the salmon down but did not turn them all the way off. I have still had reports and are still seeing them come into the shop. Lots of people are seeing them Swimming around the harbors just didn’t want to hit. This weeks pics are below. The cooler weather should get them biting better. I still feel the season has a little while left. They were still hitting on lures and crankbaits as well as live large shiners on slip bobbers about 8 to 10 feet down and michigan city rigs.

a few steelhead and brown trout action here and there. Spawn sacs, large shiners and hair jigs tipped with wax worms or shrimp.

some nice pike at belmont casting a variety of lures.

riverwalk still active with a variety of fish. Jeffery sent a few pics that i have posted at the bottom.

no perch or smallmouth reports.

small bluegill pics are from my husband at skokie lagoons. A nice Variety of fish there too. Minnows, worms, etc…

the stock trout at the forest preserves opens Tomorrow at all the regular places. I have the list posted on our facebook page.

Like i always say “ life is short so get up and get out! You can’t catch em from the couch!” Enjoy our mild weather!

as always call for your up to the minute report, we tell it as we hear it. Have a great week and set the hook!
