FISHING REPORT

Tuesday october 6th, with such great weather and good fishing it’s hard to believe we are already a week into october.
life moves fast so get up and get out while the fishing is hot and the weather is nice!

salmon are still on fire 🔥. I have personally never seen a fall so active with Coho as well as chinook (kings) salmon. I am getting a lot of reports lately of people seeing schools swimming through the harbors. They are still hitting spoons, crankbaits and large shiner minnows on a slip bobber set up. The catches have been in and around the harbors as well as out on the Horseshoe pier. Seems like our area has more coho with a few kings and south has been more kings with a few coho. Either way there is a lot of salmon to be sought after. But remember they Definitely can’t be caught from your couch! Below are a few pics of this weeks catches from our area. I have had a few reports from up north racine, kenosha, and milwaukee and it is Definitely picking up there too. Jigging spoons seem to be the ticket in milwaukee.

Only a few smallmouth to report but that is because most Everyone out here is fishing for salmon.
there are a few nice northern pike that have been caught around the harbors.
no perch reports. We still have a month or so before they start to show up.

The riverwalk is still a great place to go to catch any number of species. Crappie, carp, bluegill, catfish, etc… just grab some minnows, worms, leeches, waxies, etc…below is a pic of spike with a nice carp from the river walk.
