FISHING REPORT

Saturday April 5th, Coho been good. Lots of limits on powerlines. Large minnows, crawlers, shrimp, spawn sacs etc…  Rod and reel starting to become more active as water warms fish moving closer to shore. Casting spoons and a variety of crankbaits, slip bobber set ups and Michigan City rigs. Perch down by the slip seem to be really slowing down. Some nice Northern in the mix. Smallmouth starting to get active in and around the harbors. In fact just this past week a young man caught what is thought to have been the new state record but didn’t have a way to transport it live to a certified scale so to be safe he released it. Keep in mind that we do have a certified scale at the shop and we are ready to weigh your record fish! Not sure if anyone has tried Smelt fishing and if they have I’m sure there isn’t anything to report but you never know one day they may show up again. We do have all the equipment you need to do it.  As always call for your up to the minute report, we tell it as we hear it! Get up and get out! You can’t catch them from the couch.
