FISHING REPORT

FRIDAY JUNE 23d, WELL PERCH SEASON OPENED A WEEK AGO. UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE HAD MOST DAYS FILLED WITH NORTH/EAST WINDS AND AS MOST OF YOU KNOW THOSE ARE THE WRONG WINDS. GREAT FOR THE SHEEPHEAD BAD FOR THE PERCH. WHEN WINDS CALM  AND LAKE SMOOTHS OUT THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW REPORTS OF SOME REALLY NICE JUMBO PERCH. IT SEEMS TO JUST BE AN UNFORTUNATE FISHING FOR PERCH PATERN. SHEEPHEAD GOOD ON THE HORSESHOE ON SOFT SHELLS AND POND CRABS. SMALLMOUTH STILL NOT VERY ACTIVE. THE CHICAGO RIVER HAS BEEN GETTING MORE ACTIVE WITH ALL DIFFERENT SPECIES. OTHER LOCAL BODIES OF WATER HAVE BEEN TURNING OUT CRAPPIE, BLUEGILL, BASS, CARP ECT… JUST GET OUT AND ENJOY LIFE BECAUSE IT IS TOO SHORT TO WASTE! AS ALWAYS CALL FOR YOUR UP TO THE MINUTE REPORT WE TELL IT AS WE HEAR IT!
